Privacy Policy

APKLint is built to be useful without making you sign in or hand over personal details. We don’t ask you to create an account, and we don’t sell or rent your data. We do use Google Analytics and Google Ads to understand how the site is used and to run our own advertising — this page explains exactly what is collected, by whom, and how you can control it.

What we don’t collect

We do not require registration, logins, names, or email addresses to use any tool, and we do not sell or rent your data to third parties. The files and text you submit to the tools are never used for advertising or analytics profiling — the analytics and advertising described below relate to general site usage (pages visited, referrer, approximate region), not to the contents of anything you analyze.

How your data is processed

Reference checklist pages run entirely in your browser and don’t upload or analyze anything. The interactive tools are processed by our backend over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, used only to produce your result. How long anything is held depends on the type of tool:

Upload tools (APK / AAB). Your file is uploaded to our object storage, downloaded to the analysis server, inspected, and the result is returned. The file and any generated result files are then wiped automatically by a scheduled cleanup job (see below).

Paste and policy tools. The text or form answers you submit are sent to our backend, used to produce your result in that request, and are not written to our file or object storage. We don’t log them for analytics or share them.

ASO tools (store lookups). Your keyword, package name, or store URL is used to fetch public Google Play data. To avoid repeatedly hitting Google Play, public lookup results may be cached in memory on the server for a few hours. This cache isn’t tied to an account, IP profile, or analytics system, and it isn’t written to disk.

Deletion after analysis

Uploaded files and any generated result files are deleted automatically by a scheduled cleanup job that runs every hour on Indian Standard Time, removing them from both the analysis server and our object storage. A scan still in progress is protected while it runs, so it isn’t interrupted; its files are removed by the next hourly cleanup once it finishes, and we never share them.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-CVH6L36TKG) to understand how visitors use the site — for example which tools are opened, the referring page, device type, and approximate region. This gives us aggregated, pseudonymous usage statistics; it is not linked to an account and we do not use it to identify you personally.

We also use Google Ads to run and measure our own advertising campaigns. The Google tag lets us measure conversions (for example, that a visit followed one of our ads) and may be used for remarketing — showing APKLint ads to you on other sites — and, where permitted, ad personalization. APKLint does not display third-party ad banners on its own pages.

Cloudflare delivery and measurement

Cloudflare's Google Tag Gateway delivers Google tag resources through this site's domain and forwards measurement requests to Google. Cloudflare handles those requests as part of providing the gateway. A first-party URL does not mean the information stays only with us: Google remains the analytics and advertising provider. Consent choices are handled by the consent system described here; delivery through the gateway and script loading order do not establish that consent has been granted.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page visits, loading speed and responsiveness. Its beacon sends page and performance information to Cloudflare, including URL paths, browser/device information and timing metrics; performance diagnostics can include resource URLs and element selectors. Cloudflare documents that this measurement does not use cookies or localStorage and does not fingerprint visitors. This is separate from Google Analytics and advertising measurement. Consent and your choices

We use Google Consent Mode v2 and APKLint's own consent banner. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage default to denied until a choice is applied; a granted default applies elsewhere. The banner lets you accept or reject optional Google storage, and the existing Cookie settings control lets you revisit your choice. We remember the choice in localStorage so it applies across pages.

With Advanced Consent Mode, denied storage can still allow limited cookieless consent and measurement signals to Google. Denied storage is not a promise that no request reaches Google. Browser cookie controls, Google Ads Settings and the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on provide additional choices.

Cookies

The Google tags set cookies to do the above — for example Google Analytics identifiers (such as _ga and _ga_*) and Google advertising/measurement cookies. See the Cookie Policy for the list and how to manage them. Subject to the consent settings above, these are the only cookies the site uses; we do not use other third-party tracking cookies.

Third-party processing

Analysis is performed using open-source tooling running on our own infrastructure. Uploads are handled through our hosting and content-delivery providers solely to deliver the service, and are subject to the same scheduled cleanup after analysis finishes.

Children

APKLint is a developer tool intended for a general, professional audience and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.
